Kim McKenna, FNP, is the visionary Chief Executive Officer of One Cross Community Health and Wellness, an organization she founded in 2014 with the mission to expand healthcare access in rural and underserved communities. As CEO, Kim is responsible for the strategic leadership and overall operations of the organization, ensuring alignment with the Board of Directors’ vision and goals.
Her deep commitment to rural health is evident in her hands-on approach, where she continuously seeks innovative ways to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. In her executive role, Kim leads the development and execution of key programs and services that directly address the healthcare needs of the community. She works collaboratively with the Board and leadership team to drive strategic growth, manage financial and operational performance, and ensure that One Cross meets its clinical and service delivery objectives. Kim’s ability to foster a culture of collaboration and compassion among staff creates a work environment that prioritizes both patient-centered care and professional development.
In addition to her executive responsibilities, Kim remains an active healthcare provider, serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and brings over two decades of clinical expertise to her role. As an FNP, Kim provides comprehensive healthcare services, including preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic and acute conditions. Her approach to patient care integrates evidence-based practice with a deep understanding of the social determinants of health affecting her rural patient population.
Kim is also a certified speaker, trainer, and coach, specializing in leadership, communication, and personal and team development. As a member of the John Maxwell Leadership Team, she empowers healthcare professionals and teams to reach their highest potential. Her leadership has positioned One Cross as a beacon of rural healthcare, garnering recognition for its exceptional contributions to community health and wellness.
Under Kim’s leadership, One Cross has expanded its services to meet the growing needs of its community, incorporating behavioral health, primary care, and innovative care models that improve access for underserved populations.
